Showns in device manager with yellow hazard. Yet updating mnualling jut says
latest
drivers are installed? Manually disabled drivers signing.

the driver signing is most likely still enabled - the error code suggests that
the
driver's files are "damaged", meaning unsigned.
you need to disable the driver signing during boot up - there's an entry on the
FAQ
page regarding that.

Okay thanks. So essentially this trust soundcard cannot give me optical out in
vista 64?

Original comment by pe...@bbmax.co.uk on 5 Mar 2008 at 7:00

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
it can if the driver signing has been disabled. it's working perfectly fine on
my
vista x64 installation (ultimate sp1).

p.s It doesnt ask me to disable anything during boot up? But I know what you
mean.

you _have_ to press the f8 key during boot up for the menu to show up - here's
the
link to a guide: http://www.security-hacks.com/2007/05/07/vista-disable-driver-
signing-verification-in-64-bit

Cool thanks, I have sound. As everything has to be set to 2 channel or stereo
what
exactly is being output by optical out then? Sounds okay through my 5.1 (music
anyway).

that all depends on the source material and the player software.

Issue 38 has been merged into this issue.

Original comment by dogb...@gmail.com on 2 Jan 2009 at 2:53

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
My issue has been merged to this one, but this does obviously not help me. The
problem is still present.

I cannot install the driver under Vista64. First it looks ok. It lets me
execute the
setup. I click "Install Driver" and setup reports "successfully installed".
Then, after additional 2 seconds I get a error message window with a "!" but
without
text. Then setup terminates without having installed the driver.

What can I do to solve the issue? I already started under "F8" but again with
no success.

Please help!

Thanks,
Andreas

a screenshot of both the error message and the device manager's item for the
sound
card would be a good start.

my bets are nevertheless on issues with the driver signing.

Ok, thanks for looking!

I attach screenshots of all messages in the order of appearance. The last file
contains a screenshot of the device manager. I booted Vista64 with F8-Option.

the driver failed to install for some reason. are you sure that you've
downloaded
the correct version (64 bit)?
also, have you tried to install the driver manually?

Original comment by dogb...@gmail.com on 2 Jan 2009 at 8:57

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I have now tried to install the driver manually in the device manager. That was
successful in the end!
After that I started the setup again, in order to get the item under
"Systemsteuerung". The setup crashed again with the above mentioned error
message.
But at least it installed the item before it crashed.
Then of course I have the same problem, than any other 64Bit Vista user, that I
need
the F8-Option on every boot now. But that is ok for me.

Thanks Dagobert for the great driver and the support!

the item for the control panel is installed even if you trigger the driver
installation manually.
I'll have a look at the installer in order to verify a potential bug. thanks
for
reporting!

I've tested it and came to the conclusion that you probably missed to run the
installer as admin. For some reason, Vista failed to recognized the setup
program as
such and didn't asked for admin elevation.
To run the installer as admin, right-click it and select the second item of the
context menu.

Original comment by dogb...@gmail.com on 5 Jan 2009 at 9:00

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
You are most probabely right. I retried the setup with the second option and
this
time it worked!
Strange thing, I already wanted to select the option "as Admin" when I first
tried to
install the driver. But I could not find the option in the context menu.
But anyhow, now it works flawless and perfect!

Thanks once again for looking into the issue, dogbert!
