iPad Mini Custom Resolution Always Crashes

Describe the bug A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

Using the 2266x1488 resolution of the new iPad mini, moonlight fails to connect to the host. Host desktop resolution is irrelevant.

I tried on the latest build from master and from the public version available on the app store.

Steps to reproduce Any special steps that are required for the bug to appear.

Affected games List the games you've tried that exhibit the issue. To see if the issue is game-specific, try streaming Steam Big Picture with Moonlight and see if the issue persists there. All Other Moonlight clients

• Does the issue occur when using Moonlight on PC or Android? No Moonlight settings (please complete the following information)
• Have any settings been adjusted from defaults?
• If so, which settings have been changed?
• Does the problem still occur after reverting settings back to default?

Gamepad-related issues (please complete if problem is gamepad-related)

• Do you have any gamepads connected to your host PC directly?
• If gamepad input is not working, does it work if you use Moonlight's on-screen controls?
• Does the problem still remain if you stream the desktop and use https://html5gamepad.com to test your gamepad?

Unfortunately, there is not really anything we can do for this. If you look at Nvidia's logs on your host in C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA Corporation\NvStream, you will most likely see an NVENC encoder error caused by that particular resolution.

It is an encoder limitation on Nvidia's end.

I have no issues with this resolution pairing with my iPad mini; either with the host at a different resolution or at 2266 x1488 to avoid aspect ratio mismatch. Must be something with your environment? The main differences I see compared to my setup is that I'm running windows 11.

I'm running a 3080 as my GPU if that makes a difference.

Also working for me on a host with GTX 1070 running Sunshine on Windows 10; I think it also worked before I switched away from Geforce Experience – driver was installed using NVCleanstall.

The only problem I have seen is in Horizon - Zero Dawn when changing resolution from within the game, but this doesn't seem specific to 2266x1488 either and happens with any resolution, changing the resolution in the config file will still result in a working game at exactly this resolution - not sure if it's a general game bug or a game stream specific one, never checked locally adjusting resolution.
