Using a Windows PC to stream games to my Steam Deck, setting the audio dropdown to 7.1 will cause the side channels to play faintly through the fronts, and the rear channels play loudly through the sides and rears. Fronts and Center play normally.
I'm using the Windows Speaker Configuration menu to play sounds individually through each channel. I've made sure when I'm swapping between 7.1 and 5.1 for testing that it's changing what it's configured as in the menu.
Windows Menu in question.
The similar menu on the Linux desktop via the Deck plays all the channels correctly when clicked.
In 5.1 mode, it seems to play all of the channels correctly. the sides actually play out of the sides, instead of the fronts.
Can be reproduced by simply changing the audio setting to 7.1, Maps the channels incorrectly every time.
Only settings changed other than audio are resolution and bitrate, both raised from default.
