H.265 artifacts on a Shield TV Pro and 1080 Ti host PC #6

For some reason, when starting a stream using H.265, I get output that seems to look like it's running at a lower resolution with a fuzzy, almost interlaced-like look

Is this a problem what the client (Shield TV Pro) or my host PC? What's strange is it only happens randomly.

Hello! This has been fixed by nVidia on the latest GFE

I'm pretty sure I always have drivers and GFE up to date but I'll double check later. Been having this problem for months now and never found out the cause (or even people talking about it. Doesn't seem to be a common issue?)

Here's my rather lengthy post about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/jnxrt5/nvidia_gamestream_problems_with_my_new_rtx_3090/

I then reported it to nVidia via driver feedback, and the next day I got this message from them: "Hello,

We received your feedback below. Can you tell us if the hotfix GeForce Experience we released earlier today solves your issue? https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5106"

I think yours is related to the same.. Artifacts and H.265 bug has been a thing since nVidia released their first 30-series drivers.. Seems to have been solved now, at least for me. This GFE isn't released yet afaik

That looks worse than what I'm seeing. I do sometimes get pretty similar issues though when streaming Retroarch, but only when launching it through Steam BPM for some reason. I get rainbow colors in comparison there
