Keysnail is not compatible with Thunderbird 31.4 #158

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. The default mail client is Thunderbirt 31.4. When I drag the "keysnail.xpi" file to the addon page of the thunderbird. Thunderbird prompts "KeySnail could not be installed because it is not compatible with Thunderbird 31.4.0".

Would you provide any solutions? Or would you provide me some pointers to change the source code of keysnail?

It is likewise not compatible with firefox (iceweasel) 31, probably because ESR is not currently supported.

I don't know if it works, but it looks like 2.1.1 was the last released version that supported pre-35 (it supported 3.5-35 according to install.rdf).

it's also not compatible with Thunderbird 45.1.1; would really love to use it with Thunderbird!

Not compatible, and not working with Thunderbird 52.2.1 :(. Any workarounds or solutions? Or alternatives?

Desperately looking for a way to use Emacs keybindings in Thunderbird!
