For those who can't, or don't want to, install CRETE, the PATH EV is actually searched for the installed binary (/usr/bin should be in PATH), so just add your local CRETE bin directory to PATH and it should work, of course, with LD_LIBRARY_PATH pointing to crete/lib/bin as well.
