[Ubisoft Connect] Individual Games Won't Load - Assassin's Creed Syndicate #283

I'm having issues playing Ubisoft games from their individual game entry after being scanned by NSL Game Scanner.

I installed the latest desktop version of NonSteamLaunchers and ran a NSL game scan which detected my Assassin's Creed Syndicate install and upon restart was added to Steam.

I launched the Assassin's Creed Syndicate shortcut which loads Ubisoft Connect and the game and successfully loads all the loading screens of the game but after the final loading screen (about the game automatically saving), the screen goes black and the game menu does not load. Just the button prompts at the bottom the screen to press Steam for menu or B to abort game.

The game plays fine through the Ubisoft Connect shortcut.

Do you have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

@louisefindlay23 I have that game as well, I'll test

@louisefindlay23 for that specific game I would run it with Proton GE 8-25. It's working on mine with that one. Also just FYI, my script automatically only keeps the most updated ge proton. So what I would, is download and install Proton UpQT from the discover store and download 8-25. From there, open up NSL in desktop mode and click on Stop NSLGame Scanner. It will ask to restart click NO. Once that is done with. I would download the decky plugin version of NSL in the testing store, going forward I would use that to scan your games in real time no longer needing to restart steam anymore. This will also allow to switch between protons easier.
