NonSteamLaunchers - Ubisoft Connect launcher #351

Hello, I've spent hours trying to find a solution to the "Can't find Uplay installation" error that prevents me playing any Ubisoft games on Steam Deck. Bought bluetooth keyboard/mouse and followed so many tutorials. Some enabled me to launch Ubisoft Connect successfully, but still failed with the error if attempting to play a game from steam or trying to download it from Ubisoft Connect.

I thought Decky Loader was going to be my saviour, but after downloading it on 15/07/24 and running NonSteamLauncher plug in, Ubisoft Connect didn't appear under non steam apps. Tried several times with same result. Tried Rockstar launcher and that did appear in non steam apps, and when I clicked play, it connected to their site successfully.

The following morning when I re-started the Steam Deck, the Ubisoft Connect icon had magically appeared under non steam apps. I ran it successfully, and for the first time ever, I was able to download Ghost Recon Breakpoint from the Ubisoft launcher without it failing with that pesky error message. I was confident I would finally be able to play my game.

Sadly, after the game had downloaded I clicked Play only to see that "Can't find Uplay installation" again.

Can you help ?

@823Mowgli what in the world, sorry brother, I've never encountered an error like that, is it with that game only? Or can you play other ubisoft games?

Ghost Recon Breakpoint is the only Ubisoft game I own, and not keen to buy another (to see if it affects their other games) that I probably won't be able to get going on my Deck

@823Mowgli I have that game, I'll download it and test, may be a couple days though, it might also be that game specifically doesn't work but I'll test it for you.

@823Mowgli hey brother, I actually just idownloaded it and installed it using the decky plugin and I'm playing just fine! It may be a bad ubisoft installation on your steam deck, I would re-instsll ubisoft if you can!
