The "Send" button was removed at some point to simplify some of the bugs and layout of the bottom bar.
However, the keyboard "Send" is not enough. For example, if the user wants to choose an emoticon, they should not have to switch back to the keyboard layout just to send, the button should already be near by.
This might make the iPhone 5 view look cramped, but is still probably worth bringing it back.
