Best way to test network connection?

I extracted the ssh binaries/libs from bgshellplus and ran them with this and they seemed to work after some tinkering. Now when I'm trying to ssh to anywhere with -vvvvvvvvvvv I get the banner printed but nothing else. Not sure what it's hanging on. What's the simplest way to tell if the app can access the network? Other apps on the device having no issues.

Ok. Reinstalled bg and copied again... working now. I'll just not uninstall it, maybe there's something crazy happening
