The build.sh script fails in a 64 bit Ubuntu environment: the arm and i486 compilers are not executable. In a 32 bit Ubuntu and 32 bit Momentics everything seems to work.

Ah, good catch. I remember bumping into this some time ago, but didn't document it. The problem is that the BB dev tools are 32 bit, so getting everything working under 64 bit environments is a bit of a chore. It should work in theory if you set up multiarch, but unless someone has this set up already then it is probably simpler to just use a 32 bit distro.
