Wikipedia quotes the following from John Lynch's Argentine Dictator:

From the Spanish Wikipedia article on the Liberal Party of Corrientes:
The symbols that identify both parties are red for autonomists and light blue for liberals.
According to Wikipedia the particular shade of red under Rosas was coquelicot (French ponceau, thence Spanish punzó). French Wikipedia has a shade as described by a contemporary 19th century chemist namely #EC044C.
