The current documentation can be a little hard to navigate, and would benefit from a bit of reorganization and refactoring.

Describe the solution you'd like

Split sidebar (ala pyrolite.rtfd.io)
Gallery of examples and demonstrations (the beginnings of this are there already)
Instructions for how to get somethings setup for a new instrument and contributing relevant IO functions
A set of examples where autopew might be useful (in an operational sense), and where it would be less useful; an example of using autopew to store coordinate system calibrations etc would also be useful to illustrate its value to dataset archiving

I updated the sidebar, navigation and some of the text in the output docs to include current works in progress (5ed25b1de96d63841790d09c1ad4212c70f4b12d).
