Which ubuntu image to install for this? #1

Hi! I am trying to PXE boot a classroom full of computer and want to use Linux Mint, but can't get preseeding of Ubiquity to work.

I want to try your setup here. What image of Ubuntu do you recommend, and which kernel?

One of these? http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/netboot/trusty/

Jip, i'm using this one: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/trusty-updates/main/installer-amd64/current/images/xenial-netboot/netboot.tar.gz

Right now, i'm also testing the Xenial setup, which looks quite good so far.

Thanks for your reply! How much does your end result differ from an official Mint install? I haven't been able to get your instructions to work yet, and I'm trying to determine if it's worth the effort vs just Ubuntu with Cinnamon. (unattended pxe boot not possible with official Mint otherwise I'd just use that)

It's missing some mint-specific packages (artwork, sounds, update-manager). I ran into the same problem, wanted to pxe bootstrap mint, but as this did not work very nice, i started to do it this way.
