Headset button does not respond #19

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.use native music player, button will not pause, play, or skip to next
2.use other MP like doubletwist, and button will not respnd
3.use 3rd party button app, still nothing happens

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Music payer needs to respond, as is nothing happens.

Do you have any recommendations?
Wouldn't know how to fix it.

Sorry for the delay. Your issue is not unnoticed. I've been trying to get
ahold of team members to verify this problem. Please try ursa minor #2 to
verify the the problem was not fixed in a newer build.

Oddly, I own 3 captivates and no headphones. I blame my 5 year old.

Reinstalled UrsaMinor.zip from SD card, no go, headset button still not
working. Minor problem, the rest of it works fantastically!

Using Suckerpunch #12 kernel I was able to get the function back, but only for
third party applications, not the native player.

I'd also like to add my name to the list. The button doesn't work for me, just
like the original poster mentioned.

I have not been able to make contact with mxracer101. He is our kernel guy.
I would try to fix this issue, but we are expecting new sources shortly. I
will leave this issue open as a new kernel could fix this issue. Im unsure of
status.

The headset button on my Sennheiser Bluetooth fails to activate voice dialing
so I tried installing Choice Dialer+ Free from the Market and it says that
Android 2.2 is reporting that my phone does not support Bluetooth voice
dialing. I also tried installing Ursa Minor #2 instead of stock #1 with no
change. I'm working on compiling Ursa Minor myself, but when I flash it, it
just boot loops even when in LPM.

Apparently I skimmed over the description of the problem. I was thinking about
the issue with the Bluetooth headset button not starting the Voice Dialer, not
the wired headset button that I never use (and which also doesn't work on my
phone). I'm not sure if there related or if it's just the poor quality
Bluetooth headset I'm working doesn't work well with Android.

Confirmed that SVN R73 which adds VoiceDialer.apk does fix my Bluetooth headset
issue as is stated in Issue 18, but still have an issue with the wired headset
button under both the Ursa Minor and Skullcap kernels. Now that I'm able to
compile them, I am investigating the issue myself.
