Driver installs, but toolbar wifi icon doesn't show available networks #135

The driver manager detects the wifi adapter properly and recommends a driver for me to download. I downloaded and installed it without any problems. However the toolbar network icon still isn't showing me any wifi networks. In fact the computer doesn't even seem to think the wifi adapter is activated or recognized. Here are my specs below:

I resolved this issue by connecting my wifi adapter to port USB 3.0.

Switch of the machine Go to Settings Click on USB Enable USB Controller Select USB 3.0 Under USB Device filters. Add USB device filter. Select Realtek 802.11ac WLAN adapter. Press Ok.

The driver manager detects the wifi adapter properly and recommends a driver for me to download.

Is this report about the driver in this repo? It is hard to help when I can't even make out what is going on.

FYI: There is a really good in-kernel driver for the rtl8821/11au chip going into the kernel very soon. Would you like to test it?
