symal crashes on Linux after latest update #227

Closed jeanm closed 2 years ago

jeanm commented 2 years ago

After commit 7e396312aadd50b438ebfbd03e57fcb8640e87f4, compiling MOSES on Linux leaves me with a symal binary that crashes straight away with SIGILL when I attempt to run it (independently of the arguments, even with no arguments):

Illegal instruction (core dumped)
Exit code: 132

Reverting to 0036c6c3d6f2a5d9dbe8df9d665b6b24c23f3d4a fixes the problem.

Here is how I compile MOSES:

$ ./bjam -j8 --no-xmlrpc-c

If you undo the latest commit with git reset --hard HEAD~1 then recompile, does it still crash?

hieuhoang commented 2 years ago

oh, you did just that. I'll revert the last commit

hieuhoang commented 2 years ago

very strange. I can confirm it's only that commit so reverted. Thanks for pointing it out
