SSH with password #107

This is more of a general question but I am sure others might have the same
one.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
better-cacti-templates-1.1.5 & Ubuntu 9.10

Please provide any additional information below.
I have my server setup already with a strict SSH policy (keys+password and
certain "Allowed User") configured in sshd_config.

When I add the user 'cacti' and assign an public/private key (with no
password), I am then unable to SSH to the server using 'cacti' as I have
set it to always require a password (SSH without a password is less
secure).

Is there a way to maintain my strict policy and still gain access to the
services I need for this plug-in to work?

Not that I'm aware of, and I think it would be difficult. I would suggest that
you
bring this up on the mailing list where more eyes can see it, and there might
be some
ideas.
