Added an extra while loop to catch any unexpected issues and re-initialize thread method, i.e.

close UART and reopen it again (in case some reconfiguration happened in parallel on the command line)
restart processing, in case an unexpected exception came up (like documented in issue #154)

I have this fix running now since days on my system, and I have already seen in the log that it fixed one more occurence of the issue in my system.
