Hi there! We do not consider this to be a bug, because the preferences file is not meant to be edited manually. Our app only supports manual editing of the data file, and even in that case, we recommend it only for advanced users (who make a backup).

There is a section in the UG for editing the data file, but we do not specify anything for editing the preferences file, as we did not see it as a priority as of v1.4. We will take this into consideration for future iterations!

Reason for disagreement: I disagree that this should not be a bug. A user wanting to change the file path is a very real possibility. And the app simply cannot crash for an invalid file path for the data file. This causes the app to be unusable for the said user as the user wont be able to figure out what is wrong. Hence this is a bug.
