Triage and rebuild the 'help' section. #196

The 'help' section needs to be reviewed and possibly rebuilt (if needed).

The current "inline help" scheme is not very well-thought out. I would ditch it for the moment in favor of links to an appropriate github wiki page, which could be displayed using the message interface.
