Description This will include the interview script that we will use with participants as they walk through the UI. This will include a mixture of Jobs to be done and Usability testing

Education leads to trust

Education and Trust

*** Education easy to understand 1) Do they understand the core concepts? 2) Do they understand the cross jars and how that works? 3) Do they understand what to press and when?

4) After they used the software, what is JAM in the eyes of users?

Ideas on tasks: 1) Onboarding process (Is the education along every step of the way easy to understand? 2) Every step needed to start to receive funding (Show me how you would set yourself up to receive funding) 3) Send to yourself in a different jar (Main task, so they see something moved from one jar to another)

Send a fidelity bond (optional - expert)

Interview Script

Intro/ Warm Up ~5 mins

In this section, you want to make the person feel comfortable. Crack a joke! Talk about the weather, whatever!

Hi, thanks for your interest in helping us improve the JAM UI! My name is Mo, I am a UX researcher and part of the Bitcoin Design Community. Over the next 45 mins, I want to learn more about your interest and experience using JAM. Your feedback will stay anonymous.
On today’s call, I’m going to ask you some questions about yourself so I can get to know you a bit, and then we’ll talk about your experiences when it comes to JoinMarket and JAM.
Then I’ll ask you to share your screen with me and we’ll try out the JAM UI together.
The information you provide will only be used for improving JAM, and your input will be anonymised and aggregated with any reporting I do. I want to emphasise that we are looking for your open and honest feedback. It’s an informal discussion where we are interested in how and why you started using JAM/ JoinMarket.
I would like to record today’s session, so that we can come back to it later when we analyze the findings. The video won't be used for any other purpose.

JTBD Section, ~ 10 mins

In this section, you want to understand what pushes someone to use a privacy-focused application, how they discovered and decided to use JAM. You also want to take note of habits, anxieties, delights and pain points.

Do you remember your first experience with JoinMarket and/or JAM? Tell me about it.
What do you see as the difference between JoinMarket and JAM?
Do you feel like you understand the core concepts of JAM?

In this section, you want to understand how people interact with the JAM UI.

Ok, now let’s switch to the screen-sharing part. I would like to see how you interact with the JAM UI. I’d like you to go through the process of onboarding to JAM (if you’ve never used it before) and setting up Jars. Speaking aloud your thoughts. Say what makes sense, what’s confusing and if you have any questions (and I’ll ask some questions as we go too).
