Rules and Regulations
1. Initial Signup and Film Submission
Every person who is above 13 years of age can create an account to submit a film by paying the requisite entry fee and curate films.
1.1. Profile Building
A profile is built based on the information filled in the signup form and the additional details, in the case of filmmakers, are collected from the film submission form. All requests to “add as a crew” must be approved by the filmmaker. Moviepedia Films reserves the right to delete/alter any profile if found that information provided is false/fraudulent.
1.2. Film Submission
Only a person associated with the film can submit the film. The submitted film should not violate copyright law. If Moviepedia Films finds such content, it reserves the right to forfeit the entire entry fee paid during film submission. Only the films that make the cut during initial review by Moviepedia Content Curation Team will be forwarded to the celebrity jury panel. Moviepedia films do not reserve any liability to forward the film to the celeb jury panel. Every film submitted will be screened for 15 days. During this period, the audience will be watching and rating the film which is being screened. Subtitles in English are mandatory for all films. Any submission without subtitles will be given 48 hours to add subtitles. If not updated within a given time, the film will not be screened and the entire fee paid would be forfeited.
1.3. Fee and Refund Policy
The fee for submission of a film for the standard package is 399 INR (including GST@18%) and for the premium package, it is 498 INR (including GST@18%). Submission fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. If the submitted entry does not match the basic parameters set by Moviepedia Curation Panel, the user will get one more chance to submit a different entry by using credits given by Moviepedia Films within a month.
2. Contest and Benefits for filmmakers Filmmakers will be having an opportunity to create a profile and build credibility and reputation by showcasing the work and win rewards in cash.
2.1. Filmmaker of the month
Every month there will be contests among filmmakers, where films published on the platform in that particular month will be rated by the Moviepedia Content Curation Team and audience and recommendations based on which a composite score will be calculated to decide the winner of the ‘Creator of The Month’ title. Cash rewards are as follows: Winners: - 9000 INR, Runner-up: - 6000 INR. Prize money will be paid to the user who submitted the film and the mode of payment will be through a bank account only.
2.2. Popularity score The ranking of the filmmakers is done based on this score. The popularity score is calculated based on aspects such as the number of films submitted, ratings, reviews, recommendations, and followers of the filmmaker. Higher the popularity score, the higher the chances of raising the funds for the upcoming projects.
2.3. Fundraising
The filmmakers must focus on building the ‘Popularity Score’. After a certain level, a filmmaker would be able to raise funds for their upcoming projects. The level at which a filmmaker gets to raise funds will be activated as the progress of the filmmaker advances in the ‘Fund-ready’ meter. Once a filmmaker gets ready to raise a fund Moviepedia Films will contribute to a portion of the fund that is to be raised. Moviepedia Teams will strictly scrutinize the popularity of the filmmaker and the nature and size of the project before approving any fundraiser.
2.4. Promotions Films submitted under the premium package will be promoted across our social media handles during the period of screening. This promotion includes, One post and one story on Instagram, A Moviepedia Films Feature Review on Facebook. Films that are recommended by the celeb partners will be shared on our social media platforms. ‘Picks’ of the day is solely based on recommendations made by curators on that particular day. This list will be shared on our social handles on that particular day.
3. Contest and benefits for Curators 3.1. Curator of the month In this contest, Curator can recommend up to 20 films which were live in that particular month and if those 20 films match with the films recommended by our celebrity partners the curator will be rewarded with cash as follows Winner:- 9000 INR Runner up:- 6000 INR The method of calculation is as follows, Example 1, a curator can recommend a maximum of 20 films out of which only 5 films also got recommended by our celebrity partners then, the match percentage will be (5/20) ×100=25%. Example 2:- a curator recommended 12 films out of which 6 films were recommended by our celeb partners then, match percentage will be calculated as {6/20)×100= 30%. The last day to edit the recommendation list will be on the 14th day of the following month. Example:- The deadline for December months recommends will be on 14th of January. Results based on percentage match will be announced on the 17th day of the following month. Cash rewards to be paid only through a bank account.
Engagement meter This meter is the measure of progress of the user engagement on our platform. Parameters that influence this meter are Reviews written; Upvotes received for the reviews written Ratings given, recommended films, and followers. To unlock different levels, the user must complete 100% of the engagement meter.
Be the Curator Once the user completes level one, other monetization features would also be available from thereon. A user’s curation feature gets activated as he surpasses his/her profile levels.
