@moxboxwa To help you make sense of the Excel files, the agency wrote:
RMS list of incidents of pursuit from 2019-2023. This list contains all incidents of pursuit, most of these are foot pursuits. There is no way to pull only vehicle pursuits. However, we have a list of case numbers identified as vehicle pursuit cases and they are:
2023-34282 SM22-2 2021-110019 2021-6817 2020-123636 2020-97838 2020-88856 2019-145029 2019-118437 2019-79711 2019-43559 2019-17734
I have highlighted the ones in the pursuit list document. The ones not in the pursuit list, I pulled separately and those are included."
Points for being helpful, but it's hard to believe a city that size would not have a flag for vehicle pursuits in their RMS. They're an accredited agency.
@moxboxwa do you want me to push back then, or do you have what you need? It might be prudent to just ask for all documents compiled / relied upon to prepare the "Pursuit Summaries" document they provided.
@hejokelly from 10/9/24 discussion: They're an accredited agency so they must produce reports documenting use of force incidents, including pursuits. Please provide the annual pursuit review reports from 2019-2023 and the underlying incident reports relied upon.
@hejokelly we will also need to request clarification on the column labeled "Dispositions" in their RMS:
Ask for an explanation of the codes in this column.
rms extract, xls, with officers, disposition, ORI clarification and annual reports needed initial data analysis can proceed
