Wiki page's Notary List #106

A quick recommendation for Convergence's Wiki: Notary list In the list of notaries, it would be awesome if a column was added for country. That way users could quickly see which of the listed notaries are in their country or close to them.

All I would say to this is, ideally you want to use notaries randomly spread out from a security standpoint. Using all notaries in your own country and they are likely to all see the same view of a site external to that country. If government is MITM all connections in/out of that country...

ewanm89, I agree. So, if we do not list where the notaries are located, how would we know if we are using notaries based in one country or spread out?

Making more information available can only improve the service.

Agreed. In the near future, the notary bundle will explicitly include locale information for this exact reason.

Only thing is, we need to educate users not to use the most local notaries. Exactly opposite to the likely use case for the information. Giving the information itself isn't bad, users not realizing the implications by setting notaries to be all close to them is bad.
