This issue is a test copy of an issue in another repo. Original issue: 88096
Hi @moxious, it seems like you're working on a visualization feature concerning nested pie/donut charts, and you've suggested integrating it with Google Sheets as a datasource. This kind of feature would be best-suited for the DataViz Project, as it appears related to data visualization capabilities within Grafana.
You can also check if your feature request or issue aligns with the project's goals by visiting the DataViz Project repository and provide any additional context or references that can be helpful for the team.
If you believe this is not the right categorization, feel free to clarify further aspects of the problem so it can be redirected appropriately.
Summary: The user 'moxious' reports an issue with displaying data from Google Sheets as nested donut charts in Grafana, where they are unable to have Query B displayed in the inner layer of the chart, although they can create a single donut chart.
Elaboration:
Hi @moxious, thank you for reaching out with your issue regarding nested pie/donut charts in Grafana using Google Sheets as a datasource. To help you better, we'd appreciate some additional details that might help us in diagnosing the problem correctly:
Could you share the version of Grafana you're using? Knowing the exact version can help us identify if this might be related to any known issues or version-specific capabilities.
It seems the links to the images you've provided aren't working correctly. Could you please provide working links to the images or upload them directly to the issue? This will help us visualize what you're experiencing.
You mentioned that it's pretty straightforward to reproduce the issue with 'just some data in Google Sheets.' However, could you give us a more detailed step-by-step guide on how to setup the data source and configure the donut chart to exhibit the problem? This could be essential for replicating the issue on our end.
Could you share a little more information about how you are setting up your queries A and B in Grafana? This would give us insights into how the data is being pulled and potentially why it's not creating the nested donut chart you desire.
Lastly, what platform and which browser (including version) are you using to access Grafana? Occasionally platform/browser-specific issues can affect how features work or display.
Once we have this information, we will be in a better position to assist you. Looking forward to your response!
All the best, [Your Name]
What happened?
I am working with google sheets as my datasource (query A & B) and I am trying to implement a donut with 2 layers (inner and outer layers).

What did you expect to happen?
Right now I am able to create a donut chart but i want my query B to be in the inner donut chart.
