Cloud Monitoring PromQL: Alias By not showing in query panel #341

What happened?

When using PromQL instead of of builder with the GCP Cloud monitoring datasource the Alias By box is not showing.

What did you expect to happen?

The Alias by box showing up in the panel

Did this work before?

N/A

How do we reproduce it?

  1. Open "explore"
  2. Use a cloud monitoring datasource and switch to PromQL instead of builder
  3. The "Alias by" is not shown

Is the bug inside a dashboard panel?

Grafana: 10.4.1 OS: MacOS 14.1.2 Browser: Chrome 124

This issue is a test copy of an issue in another repo. Original issue: 88173

Summary: Issue 341, still OPEN, describes a problem where the 'Alias By' box does not appear in the Grafana query panel when using PromQL with the GCP Cloud Monitoring datasource. The issue is reproduced by switching from builder to PromQL mode in the explore tab.

Hello @moxious, it seems like this issue is related to the AWS Datasources project, as it pertains to cloud monitoring which is closely related to datasources of cloud providers, even though GCP is not AWS. However, if the GCP Cloud monitoring datasource is managed under a specific project such as the Grafana Plugins Platform, please consider that project instead. Could you please confirm the exact nature of the datasource you're referring to so that the appropriate team can assist you?
