Automated Release Notes

Describe the solution you'd like We currently don’t have a way to show to users/contributors any of the following:

• changes/PRs in a release
• breaking changes
• contributors
• bugfixes

This issue covers looking into what other OS projects use and suggesting a process to automatically collect necessary information for Release Notes.

Describe alternatives you've considered Starting with a changelog: version tag, date, added, fixed, removed.

I'd favor a manual or semi-automated solution. A person is usually needed imho to give some consistency to RNs. A changelog in itself gives information about (duh) what was changed, but it is sometimes difficult to assign them to established categories (bugfixes, features, improvements).
