Secure Proxy is not synced when logging on a different machine #285

Affected Platforms:

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open Firefox and login with you FxA account.
  2. Install Secure Proxy.
  3. Perform a Sync.
  4. With the same FxA account login on a different machine and perform sync.

Expected result:

When syncing is finished Secure Proxy is installed on the second machine as well.

Actual result:

Secure Proxy is not synced to the secondary machine.

Isn't this a general problem? Or, is it a problem at all? I've never seen syncing addons installation between different devices using the same account before.

This is a standard feature of sync, I suspect as it's a unlisted or beta signed extension it won't sync.

I wouldn't count this as a major bug even if it was something we could fix in the addon.

Moved to 0.8 because we want to check this issue again when the extension becomes public.

This is because the addon can't be found by sync on a.m.o - so I suspect it will start working once the addon is made public.

However, https://private-network.firefox.com/ explicitly says it works now, so you should consider revising the copy on that page.

Hey this a copy issue, not a technical issue...let's treat this as a thing to be resolved on SUMO.

This issue is still reproducing in v18. It doesn't seem like a copy issue to us.
