This PR contains:

Migrate unit tests to Jest
Add a simple smoke test for a React component
Lint the unit test JavaScript files and fix linting errors

Let's wait a little bit before merging this PR. I want to check what Travis thinks of it and what could be the potential impact of changing the babel configuration.
