chore(eslint): remove var usage #33

Add no-var to eslintrc, and remove usage of var from the code. Fixes #31 @pdehaan

LGTM, and Travis passes all linting and tests (but I have no R+ powers here, so you'll need to wait for a contributor/admin to press the shiny green button).
