Finding the build when this regressed would be helpful as this is a non-standard setup. I expect his reproduces on Geckoview example so you can use Mozregression with gve

the last good version is 100.0a1 2015868771 before the white flash in dark mode start to happening again (I also reported that bug if matters ) is something to do with Gecko and gpu process about 10 days ago gpu process was enabled in about :config . I tried disabling it in newer build but still the problem of font rendering remains it just mitigates (not completely solves white flash problem in dark mode ).

@kbrosnan that looks like a WebRender text rendering bug. -webkit-text-stroke-width triggers fallback rendering rather than WR text rendering, so that might be the cause. However I don't see that happening neither on Android or Linux on my side.

From the screenshot it seems there are a few other extensions potentially involved. @ale82to does this happen on a clean profile / with extensions disabled, and just with the -webkit-text-stroke change? Or, what is the set of extensions etc that repro this for you?

@ale82to it would be really helpful if you could use mozregression to determine what change caused this text bug. It doesn't sound like it's to do with the GPU process if disabling it doesn't fix the issue.

The white flashes indeed sound like they were caused by the GPU process being enabled. But let's keep that in a separate bug. Do you have the bug number you filed for that?

This was rather tedious, but I managed to get a regression range in GVE by manually installing the stylus addon and setting that style. It gave this range ie bug 1758555
