[Toolbar redesign] - Incorrect search engine favicon display [Intermittent] #21363

Prerequisites User is enrolled in "New iOS toolbar" experiment treatment a.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install FF, Google is the default search engine.
  2. FF theme is dark.
  3. Go to homepage and tap on the URL bar.
  4. Observe Google favicon.
  5. Repeat with light mode.
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 with Bing and DuckGo search engines.

Expected behavior The search engine favicon is correctly displayed, both in dark and light mode.

Actual behavior The search engine favicon is not correctly displayed. The colours are mismatched: on dark mode-->light favicon and viceversa.

Verified as fixed on the latest Nightly -v9000 (45230) with iPhone 14 Pro Max (iOS 16.2).
