[Menu redesign] [iPad] - Desktop site is enabled by default and the functionality is not working #23260

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Fresh install FF.
  2. Access a webpage, tap on the menu.
  3. Observe

Actual results

Switch to mobile site is displayed, in blue text. If you play with the button, no change is applied to the webpage.

Expected results

Switch to desktop site is displayed, in white text.  The button should change the state of the webpage accordingly.

This might be expected behavior because Firefox defaults to desktop site mode on iPad and some sites still show a desktop-like site on large screens.

Please compare with Safari’s behavior on the same device and test a site we know has a mobile version.
