Recommendation from Bram:
When on TV,
Meeting with FxA next week to discuss
We decided that changing the page title on the Firefox Account side will cause inconsistency in their UI.
Similarly, hiding the sign up/create an account option will make Fire TV require a special exception that’s not shared by all the other platforms.
So we’d like to do something on the Fire TV side instead:
This will most likely take the form of a message (modal, etc.) that asks users whether they’d like to use another (easier) device to create an account – the preferred way – or still proceed with account creation on TV.
Here’s a strawman mockup of what this page looks like.
Keep in mind that we’re hoping to cater for a corner case: most users will choose to sign in and not see this page.
“Ok, got it” is a secondary option. If a user has gone out of their way to select “Create an account” on TV, they probably really want to do so, and we shouldn’t make account creation even harder to access.
Thoughts? @athomasmoz.
