Face ID animation after start #3237

Open no-one opened 2 years ago

no-one commented 2 years ago

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable Face ID protection
  2. Close the app completely
  3. Open the app

Expected behavior

No Face ID, because no URL was opened before

Actual behavior

Face ID Animation

Device & build information

Notes

This has been the case for me since the update to 99.0. Before, there was no Face ID animation when the app was reopened, but now there is. This makes it seem slower and choppier than before. Is this an intentional behavior?

Still present in 100.0. You need a unlock code or Face ID to start Focus and that is annoying.

Still present on Test Flight 100 (12849) / iOS 15.5

imo, this is both:

Hello, please note that this is being investigated. Please check https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/focus-ios/issues/3064 for more references. It was added a long time ago in order to protect the privacy of the focus home screen, as the shortcuts were implemented.

I don't have any shortcuts, so it's a definite inconvenience.
