Incorrect behavior on Mozilla VPN after denying the permission from UAC request to update the client

Affected versions:

• 2.9.0;

Tested Platforms:

• Windows 11;

Prerequisites:

• Have Mozilla VPN 2.9 version installed and opened;

• Have a Fx account with an active subscription for Mozilla VPN;

• Be signed in;

Steps to reproduce:

1. Click on the “Update now” button from the update banner;
2. Click on the “Update now” button from the Update recommended screen;
3. After the UAC prompt is displayed, click on the “No” button;
4. Observe the behavior;

Expected result:

• The user is redirected to the Update recommended screen, where the “Update now” button can be clicked;

Actual result:

• The user is redirected to the Update recommended screen, but the “Update now” button stays in spinning, and cannot be clicked;

Notes:

• If staying in the “Update recommended” screen, the button remains in spinning. Also, if going to Settings - About us and clicking on the “Check for updates” button, the button also remains in spinning and no modal is displayed (even after 5 minutes of remaining in the same screen);

• Quitting the app resolves the issue;

• The behavior is the same regardless of the VPN state (if ON or OFF);
