[macOS] “Mozilla VPN” OS menu is unresponsive after selecting the “Hide”/”Show Mozilla VPN” options

Important details: 

• “Apple” menu / “File” option are also unresponsive;

• the issue is resolved after clicking outside of the VPN windows and then inside the VPN window;

• reproducing with 2.13 version as well;

Affected versions:

• 2.14.0 (2.202302211449);

Tested Platforms:

• MacOS 12.6.1;

Prerequisites: 

• Have Mozilla VPN app installed and opened;

Steps to reproduce:

1. Click on the “Hide Mozilla VPN” option from the system tray menu;
2. Click on the “Show Mozilla VPN” option from the system tray menu; 
3. Click on the “Mozilla VPN” OS menu, from the top-left corner of the screen;
4. Observe the behavior;

Expected result:

• Mozilla VPN OS menu is displayed;

Actual result:

• Nothing happens. The app menu is unresponsive;

the menu functionality is restored as soon as the app looses and re-obtains the focus. So definitely it’s a combination between QT and MacOS.

We also have a Mozilla VPN menu on Linux 22.04.

Clicking on its Mozilla VPN - New Window does nothing. The mouse cursor turns into a spinning wheel.

Checked this while using the 2.20 rc build.
