Improve perf of our ContentProviders that run on startup that we haven’t improved before (investigation).
Is it worth initializing our app components in AppStartup? Particularly, doing async initialization here to start even earlier (e.g. Gecko) or is the added overhead of using a ContentProvider not worth it (if we’re already starting one ContentProvider, maybe the overhead is moot?)?
Google is creating libraries to help us understand and improve performance. AppStartup is focused on startup performance: let's see if it's useful.
