Demos for your #438 projects are coming up on Tuesday, August 8th.
A great demo presentation is interesting, informative, and most importantly gives people ideas about how they could use, learn from, or build on your ideas, tools, and experiences.
Every presentation will have 5 mins.
Your task for this week is to take the following steps to prepare for demos:
_1. Schedule a meeting with a mentor to ask questions, and get feedback on what you've been working on.
Grab another Student Leader and practice your presentations on each other
Sign-up early to make sure you get a spot that feels good to you_
Demos Format
Here's an easy format you should follow for planning your presentation:
Start with WHY: Tell the audience why did you built this. What was the problem you were trying to solve and what did you hope to achieve?
Show the WHAT: Have something visual that you can walk people through, whether it's a document, a sketch on a napkin, or a working prototype give people something to look at and explain what you've created!
Explain the HOW: How did you build the thing. What was the thinking that brought you to the choices you made, what are you still working out, don't be afraid to explain what you're still testing or what's missing.
Make an ASK: Everyone's here to help you succeed. Ask the participants to try something out, share feedback, add design, anything you need!
