Passes all checks for now. Done after issue #23

Thanks! Is there any chance you could re-write these in the pytest style? See the other tests for example. Also see the official pytest documentation: https://docs.pytest.org/en/latest/

If you don't have time or would rather work on other things, I'd be happy to merge this and then fix it up myself later. Though there's another PR that adds some formatter tests (which I was planning to try and get the tests working with). So I'd pick whichever PR looks like less work in this case :).
