We think this was related to the "this addon is slowing down Firefox". Also using talos continuous testing infrastructure as Firefox uses to measure performance impacts of code changes.

It was noted that we did have this in mind and discussed with Firefox engineers, and it was decided that now wasn't the right time.

Again, we need to be more explicit and clear about what we mean. Let's assume we are talking about not making the rest of Firefox janky.
