Upgrade to React Router v6 #2080

We should probably upgrade React Router to v6 but I don't know how long it will take nor how much involved it will be.

Hi, sorry but that does not look like a good first bug. I believe this will be quite involved and this project is already a bit complex to start with. We do have a few "good first bugs" I think and we definitely have bugs opened to all contributors (labelled with contrib: welcome)
