page can get in an error state where the input box looks styled as if there is input errors #51

I'm running into an unpredictable situation where something triggers a styling change and error in the console. Not found out how to reliably reproduce it, but in the mean time, a screenshot:

I think this is due to websocket disconnect (there's a bug upstream on that and the yellow styling, don't have it handy right now)
