@sgarrity @almossawi feelings on this? Looks like we don't use jQuery.animate much, but if this is really this fast then perhaps we would? Maybe it would get us better number animation perf?

@potch thoughts? Would Velocity.js help this site at all?

Nice find! I wouldn't mind us trying it and seeing how it fares. I'll have some time later today or tomorrow morning and can take a look.
