Actual behavior

Behaviour 1: After clicking on a bookmark for Office or Azure Portal (www.office.com auth) in a specific container (A)- the tab is being automatically duplicated and opened in ANOTHER container (B), which duplicates the tab again in B and then in A. I have a loop of self-opening containers, which I had to stop (very quickly) manually since they were self-multiplying.

Behaviour 2: I open a bookmark in container A, but it automatically opens in container B. There is a window asking to proceed with B or to stay in A. While clicking "To stay in A container" the tab is still being opened in B.

Observation:

These behaviours appeared after I assigned some bookmarks always to be opened in a specific container. Up to now it happened exactly with Microsoft Office portals (office.com, Azure) where you need an authentification

Expected behavior

I'd like to open a bookmark which was assigned to be opened in a specific container and it is being opened exactly in this container. the self-duplicating behaviour is almost scary (Agent Smith) and difficult to stop. It shouldnt happen.

Steps to reproduce

  1. create at least two containers
  2. assign some pages / bookmarks to be opened only in specific containers
  3. open the bookmarks (in my case microsoft websites with authentification: https://www.office.com/?auth=2&home=1 https://portal.azure.com/#home

Notes

Thank you in advance!

Oleg

Can you reproduce the issue in a new profile? Without extensions.

With your steps to reproduce, and Panorama Tab Groups enabled, I can not reproduce an issue.

It sounds like you assigned a site to a specific container but are trying to open it in another one. If that's the case, try to remove the assignment by following this instructions https://github.com/mozilla/multi-account-containers/wiki/Frequently-asked-questions#remove-always-open-in-site-from-a-container.
