I have a similar problem, although I am on Windows, and it only affects certain webpages/containers. For example, I usually open my slack workspace in my "Personal" container, but for a while now the page will not load if I open it in that container. But if I use another container (or no container, or another browser), I can load the page.
---- Edit----- Resolved by clearing cookies. Is there away to find the cookies associated with a particular container?
I've refreshed my Firefox, and this no longer happens
I hate to reopen an old case, but I actually still have this exact problem and other than clearing the cache, I can't seem to figure out a fix.
Hardware: Dell Precision 5560
CPU: Intel i7-1180H 2.3GHz
GPU: Nvidia T1200 / Intel UHD
RAM: 32GB
Multi-Account Containers Version: 8.0.7
Operating System + Version: Windows 10, 21H2
Firefox Version: 99.0.1 (64-bit)
Other installed Add-ons + Version + Enabled/Disabled-Status: None
It seems terribly random for me. I might browse in various tabs for hours without issue, but then I will go to search in the bar or click a link and it wont work at all. Other times, it will happen within 5 minutes of opening the browser. Actually, in the time I wrote this post, I opened another tab (default, no container), and it wouldn't load the search. For a while I can get around this by using another container the same way that @jjames2 describes, but eventually all of my containers "break" and I have to flush the cache.
I have refreshed and reinstalled firefox but neither have made any noticeable difference. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the multi-account container add-on, but that has not helped either. The only thing that works for me is to clear cache for the last hour +. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Actual behavior
For the last few versions, opening Firefox would result in no pages loading. The tabs would keep spinning with no result.
I've disabled plugins to find the cause, and have found that I can't reproduce this issue with no plugins enabled, but can reproduce this issue with only the Firefox Multi-account containers plugin enabled.
This problem also doesn't happen if I delete
rm -rf ~/.cache/mozilla/firefox/*.default-release
before starting Firefox, even with the plugin enabled. When I have this problem, I can disable the Firefox Multi-account containers plugin to get the tabs to load, and then re-enable it. This implies the plugin is somehow blocking the tabs from loading.
Expected behavior
Pages should load quickly, as they do when the plugin isn't enabled.
Steps to reproduce
This happens whenever opening my browser with the plugin installed. As I don't know the exact cause, it's hard to give steps to reproduce.
