"Remember my decision for this site" checkbox is being ignored #2126

Actual behavior

  1. I open up a new tab (no container) and enter the URL of a site eg https://twitter.com
  2. Extension page steps in to ask "Open this site in your assigned container?"
  3. I check the box "Remember my decision for this site"
  4. I click "Open in Current Container", ie I don't want to open this site in a container by default
  5. Site opens as expected
  6. I close the tab
  7. I repeat 1.
  8. Extension page steps in to ask "Open this site in your assigned container?"

Expected behavior

  1. I open up a new tab (no container) and enter the URL of a site eg https://twitter.com
  2. Extension page steps in to ask "Open this site in your assigned container?"
  3. I check the box "Remember my decision for this site"
  4. I click "Open in Current Container", ie I don't want to open this site in a container by default
  5. Site opens as expected
  6. I close the tab
  7. I repeat 1.
  8. Site opens as expected (no container) - ie my "remember my decision" preference has been respected.

Similar to #1730. I sometimes want to open this site in a container, to use an alt account, when I choose to. But I don't want this to be the default. And I certainly don't want to be asked every single time I try to visit the site.

I have exactly this problem. I once miss-clicked on the option to assign a container to a site, and can not get it out anymore: even if I click on "remember my decision" to assign it back to "no container", it keeps asking me every time..

The issue seems actually dealt with here: https://github.com/mozilla/multi-account-containers/issues/1996 And the first given solution (right click on addon button and uncheck "always open in this container") worked for me!

This is by far the most annoying issue using containers.
