Tabs duplicating and unable to be closed #2607

Step to reproduce

Unfortunately I'm not sure on the exact steps. I have a container that I use for work, and at the end of the work day I usually hide this container then open it again the next morning. And twice within the last month this issue has happened.

I think what might cause it, is a crash within the window containing the tabs. Yesterday I noticed that all my work tabs had been closed, which I found strange, so I decided to open them all again. Then today I opened a tab that defaulted to my work container and changed workspace to another firefox window, strangely the 'Open this site in your assigned Container?' tab opened in this new window, and when I clicked 'Open in Work container', it opened in this new window along with a bunch of duplicated work tabs. I closed these tabs, but when I checked the list of Open Tabs for this container, they were still there.

Actual behavior

Sometimes, and only recently has this happened (twice within the last month), a bunch of tabs get duplicated and stuck inside the list of open tabs. I cannot individually close these tabs like I can do with the normal tabs, and also the 'show this container' button no longer works.

Expected behavior

I would expect the tabs not to get duplicated, and to be able to be closed as normal.

Additional informations

Last time this happened, to fix it, I ended up deleting the container and recreating it, which was a bit of a pain, as I lost all my site preferences.

I just opened another tab, and the 'Open this site in your assigned Container?' page caused the duplicate tabs to open again, but they remain duplicated - so now I have 2 sets of the 5/6 tabs open, and another set of the 5/6 tabs in my list of 'Open Tabs' image

I still cannot close these tabs image

I just noticed I had left container synchronization on. I've had this issue before, with it leading to some unpredictable behaviors. I wonder if this is the problem?

I turned sync off and created a new container and the same issue has happened again - it doesn't seem to be caused by the sync

On a side note, does anyone know how to simply delete the open tabs manually? I have tried via the extension storage browser but is read only, and via the object_data.data column in the sqlite DB but it is a BLOB type and I cannot figure out how to edit it
