Just thought it's worth updating that it seems there is a way to at least partially stop this from happening? Firefox, Brave and DuckDuckGo have an option for this now, though I'm not sure it's as robust or as effective as on Android, Windows, macOS
Apologies if the title isn't clear. On iOS/iPadOS, if the user has apps installed such as Spotify, YouTube etc., when they tap links in Firefox (for example in search results), those links open in the corresponding apps without asking the user if that's what they want to happen. It appears Apple doesn't allow 3rd party browsers on iOS/iPadOS to do anything about this. This of course has taken valuable usage away from Firefox in addition to not giving users the choice.

Firefox on Android and other platforms are able to control these behaviors (screenshot of Firefox for Android attached)
